Jabby Bowling Regulations
Divisions There can be a number of Divisions.  As of 2018, there are three divisions
Ohio
Southeastern
New England
Administrators Each Division will have a designated administrator
The administrator is to populate the Jabby Google spreadsheets with bowlers and scores
As of 2018, the administrators are
Ohio David
Southeastern Don
New England Nancy
Ryan will serve as webmaster for the Google spreadsheets
Tournament Rules To be eligible for the championship, a bowler must be 10 years of age
Each bowler will bowl two games
Handicaps will be added to each game, and a total net computed for both games
Division champions Each Division will have a winner, based upon high net
Division winners can be outside the Jabby family if the division agrees
Prize money, team competition, and individual awards are at the discretion of each Division
National champions Only Jabby family members can win the National Championship
High net (Jabby family members) from all Divisons are compared.  The highest net will be declared National Champion
There is no prize money for the National Champion, outside of what they won in their Division
Handicaps A bowler's average (AVG) will be used to compute a handicap
The handicap formula is (200-AVG) x 90%
New Bowlers If a new bowler has an existing average from regular play, it can be used
If no existing average is available, the following will be used for starting averages
10-11 years of age: AVG = 80 HDCP=108
12-14 years of age: AVG=100 HDCP=90
14-16 years of age: AVG=110 HDCP=81
Women 16+ years AVG=120 HDCP=72
Men 16+ years AVG=150 HDCP=45
Handicap Computation After tournament play, a new handicap will be computed for the next year's tournament
The next year's handicap will be the average of the starting handicap and the computed handicap based upon only that year's gross scores.
This will allow the handicap to move based upon their recent performance
To prevent sandbagging by better bowlers, the handicap cannot increase more than 20% in any given year if the bowler has a starting handicap of <70.
Ryan's spreadsheet will compute handicaps based upon these rules
